Gravure printing is a type of printing used when you need very high-quality and precise lines. It's a kind of intaglio printing, which means the image is engraved or etched onto a surface. In gravure printing, copper cylinders with the image engraved on them rotate in a pan filled with ink. This ink then transfers the image onto the material being printed on.

The inks used in gravure printing have a low viscosity, meaning they're very thin, and they can be either solvent-based or water-based. During printing, the ink dries quickly before the paper moves to the next printing stage. This helps prevent smudging when printing over previously printed areas. To work well in gravure printing, the ink needs to be able to print very fine lines, and it should start with a high-quality acrylic polymer.
